My Path to Acupuncture
I began my education as a pharmacology student at UC Santa Barbara. I suffered an on-the-job back injury, and was treated using conventional western methods and medications. After several years of having to choose between severe pain, or debilitating side effects, I realized that pharmaceutical drugs were not going to help me heal. I searched for a way to aid my body in healing itself, and found Traditional Chinese Medicine. I gained a unique perspective, both as a patient and practitioner, which allows me to understand and utilize the strengths of both eastern and western approaches to healing.
Since then, overcoming my own fertility challenges, as well as those of my patients, taught me how powerful Chinese Medicine can be in treating infertility. While the beauty and power of this medicine has worked to transform people’s lives, I have become deeply grateful for it’s many gifts.
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame and in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease."
